meet sofie :

sofie is a pre-vet student working as an equine hospital technician in her gap year before vet school.

“I have ridden horses for a long time and rode on a college IHSA team and I couldn’t imagine not spending everyday working with them. I think equine medicine in particular is just so fascinating, the creative solutions that veterinarians have come up with in order to keep these athletes at their best- there’s just nothing else like it.”

“don’t be afraid to ask questions to vets /techs in equine medicine. It can feel overwhelming at first learning how to handle horses because they are so different than small animals but it is always worth asking why someone is doing something a certain way, you will not be judged for not knowing.”
